The Sandwich Climate Crisis Coalition (SCCC) is having its next meeting. Please join us. Residents of Sandwich, N.H. and surrounding towns welcome.

Thanks to folks like you we are making great progress after just a handful of meetings, including these highlights:

   Climate Change warrant article: We’ve officially submitted it for the March 11 Town Meeting. Now we are working to ensure it gets passed. Learn how you can help. 

    NHSaves Button Up is coming to Sandwich on Tuesday evening Feb. 25 at the Benz Center. This 90-minute workshop with presenter Andy Duncan will provide tips and incentives to improve the energy efficiency of your home. The SCCC is the organizing partner. Learn how you can help make it a success. 

Warrant Article Petition Update:

  • Hanging flyers & Writing Postcards -To get out the town meeting vote! 
  • Talking Points for Warrant Article to inform your friends and neighbors. 

 Committees: Our six committees will meet to discuss goals and actions. You can sit in and sample any committee which interests you. 

Communication:  Manages our website, google group, and letters to local publications. Works with other committees in finding innovative means to build public awareness on issues related to climate, energy, and land use. Coordinates with other committees to present public workshops, films, & talks. 

Education: Works with libraries and schools to develop climate displays, works to enhance reading lists and curriculum with teachers, works with steering group to put on presentations.

Conservation liaison: Collaborates with other local and  state conservation groups to care for and educate about our forests and climate resistant lands.

Political Action:  Keeps us informed of upcoming legislation and notifies Sandwich citizens of ways to influence our representatives.  Sets up letter writing campaigns. Serves as a liaison to other political action groups working to reverse climate change.  Some will attend rallies and other political actions and organize carpools to get there.

Recycling:  Partners with surrounding towns to find regional solutions to waste management and recycling.  Works within our community to learn and share ways of improving our recycling efforts. 

Solar: Explores possibilities for individuals and the town of what is possible to meet our goals of renewables for energy in 2030 and heat and  transportation in 2050.
